Ryan McGovern of the Catherine and Jason Barry Team interviews homeowners of 6102 Avenida Alteras in Rancho Santa Fe to get their thoughts on their estate which just rolled out to the market and is available for sale.
What do you love about your home?
Two of our key criteria in selecting the home were (1) View, and (2) a place we could relax and unwind. Avenida Alteras offers both. We love relaxing in our infinity edge pool and overlooking the open fields and rolling hills behind our home. Other design elements we are really fond of are the gourmet kitchen, expansive island, and open flow to the great room. We find this to serve as the perfect space to congregate in and when we elect to go outside we open the lift and glide doors which provides an exceptional indoor/outdoor living experience. We often host family and love the size of the bedrooms—nobody feels crammed when they visit. Our family has a lot of gear, and we are delighted with the storage throughout. We are very particular about the quality of the finish, and have been thrilled with the craftsmanship. Another part of the estate we are thankful for is the ample land below to build a tennis court, bocce ball field, baseball field, etc.
What do you like about the neighborhood?
Fairbanks offers a number of benefits. Our gated community is peaceful, very safe, and the residents are friendly. The combination has proven to be great for our kids, and our family has genuinely enjoyed our time here. Fairbanks offers great Management, and we have always enjoyed the well-organized festival activities at Club House, the walking trails, community parks and awesome tennis courts which are all open to residents.
What are your favorite local activities, events, or attractions?
Fairbanks is conveniently located near so many great things. We are really into golf and love having dozens of world class courses close by. Additionally, there are numerous dining and shopping options a short drive away. On the weekends we like to pick up local produce from the nearby farmer’s markets in Rancho Santa Fe or Solana Beach. Del Mar is our favorite beach and we can be there in 10 minutes. When we have company in town or want to have a special day with our kids Sea World, the world famous San Diego Zoo, and Legoland are all easily accessible. Another spot we frequent is the Del Mar Fairgrounds which offers so many great events (horse racing, concerts, the fairs, etc.) throughout the year.
Tell me about your preferred local restaurants and shopping options?
The spots we particularly enjoy are Morada at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, Market, Cucina Enoteca, Valendora in Rancho Valencia, Ken’s Kitchen (branched out from Sushi Ota), Brigantine, Pamplemousse, and Dolce Pane y Vino. When we take the kids out we regularly head over to Del Mar Highlands. Some of our favorite restaurants are Snooze, Urban Plates, Davanti, and who doesn’t love taking in a movie at Cinepolis. Another benefit to living in Fairbanks is that we enjoy great grocery shopping options all within 10-15 min drive –including Wholefoods, Jimbo’s, and Harvest Ranch.
